The Game Plan

(You can see that Matthew's tooth was fixed right before the performance, although his upper lip and nose are still scraped from the face plant at the bottom of the pool!)

It's been a long, but fun week! Every other year, our church does a music camp instead of VBS. When we do this, a good friend and I head up the task of teaching the kids the music and movements to the songs that go with the musical. This year, we taught the kids 8 songs in 5 days. The musical, The Game Plan, was very cute. Matthew played a great soccer player who was asked to sit on the bench to give the other players some playing time. He sang an entire bluesy song, The Bench Warmin' Blues. I was very proud of him for singing an entire song by himself! Thomas had a solo, a rapping ensemble, and was the ref. It was a fun week that culminated into the musical performance tonight. It was very sweet. I enjoyed working with the kids!

The preschoolers and ex-kindergartners had their performance immediately before ours. Mary Beth had a ton of fun! She told all of her teachers and friends that she was changing her name to Mary Elizabeth. I bet she will want to change it back before she starts writing it every day in 1st grade!
