**Last night, Mary Beth started running a 103 degree fever. She has another appointment this afternoon, so hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.**
*Warning* If you get grossed out by the urinary system, you might not want to read this post. I am writing about it since a few of you have been there and are in the midst of it with your own daughters.
I was very worried about little Emmy Lou yesterday morning as she went in and out of sleep until after 11 a.m. When I took her in at 1:30, she was asked to pee in a cup. I was shocked at the amount that she went. When her doctor came in, he palpated her tummy and said that her bladder was very distended. He did an ultrasound on her belly and found that she still had an adult amount of urine in her bladder. They catheterized her and drained her bladder.
Apparently, for the last week, she had been having bladder spasms. Her bladder was distended and overfilled. She would then scream and pee on herself because of the pressure. Her doctor is worried that all that pressure could possibly cause reflux again. We are watching her like a hawk this week, and she may go back to her specialist in the next few weeks, if he can fit her in.
In the meantime, she seems to be back to her old self. I think that the catheter helped relieve a lot of pressure. We are laying low with her this week, and hopefully, her bladder will start functioning normally again soon.
Had a thought.

Bless her heart! I know she must have been so uncomfortable; and, although I'm sure it was a relief for her to void all of that urine, I know the cath was no fun either!! I hope she gets (and stays!) better soon!
I know she was in so much pain...poor baby! Praying she is feeling better.
I'm praying for ME to feel better soon!
So sorry she is going through that. Hope she is better soon!
poor little thing! I hope this treatment helps and keeps her comfortable until she can get in to see the specialist. Hopefully it will just turn out to be a fluke and not something permanent or serious. I will say a prayer for Miss ME Lou.
So sad to hear this, Elizabeth. Hang in there and take care of your baby. God is protecting her.
Take care of both of you! I'll be praying.
Bless her sweet heart. We are praying.
AWWWW poor girl, praying for her!
Hope ME is doing better today and that you have some answers from your dr. Praying...Linda L.
