This morning I was given a huge dose of mercy. I went to the farmer's market this morning to pick up some fresh produce. Several things looked good to me so I wound up spending 11 dollars. When I went to write my check, I realized that I had written my last check in the book yesterday. I scrounged around for cash but was only able to find 6 dollars. I told the farmer that I would have to decide what to put back and he said, "You know what, just keep it all." Of course I told him that I would come back and give him his 5 dollars but he told me that I would have to remind him because he would forget. I do enjoy an occasional random act of kindness. I will have to seek out a way today to pay it forward.
In other news, Mary Beth had her one year appointment today. She weighed in at 19 1/2 pounds. This was quite shocking to me as both of the boys weighed more than that at 6 months!! She also looks plump to me. It turns out that she is in the 25% for height and weight. Again, we have never been under the 50% mark so this is something new. I was even a hefty 24 pounds at a year, so I don't know where she got her tiny frame from. The doctor thinks that it may be b/c of her being sick earlier in the week, or just weaned babies tend to lose a little weight, or she may just be a dainty little girl. Who knows? I am going to take her back in 6 weeks to see if she has gained any weight.
Had a thought.

My Rach weighed in at 17lbs. at her year checkup. She was 100% for height and did not make the weight chart. The dr. said we would moniter her and not worry a bit. It did get to a point where the dr. was going to run tests and then the kid would sprout a few pounds. Sure was nice not to worry when Zoe could not make the charts either! My little people are just tiny. Have fun with your tiny person.
I've got a wonderful idea for paying your gift forward... just send some of ME's clothes to us for Hadlee to wear!!! :)
My youngest niece is 2 1/2 and she just weighs 22 lbs. I used to think that was nothing until HAH got here and was less than a gallon of milk ~ I cry imagining her at 2 1/2 years and 22 lbs...
Gracie was 16 lbs. at a year and Katie was 17 or 18, I think. At her 15 month, Katie was 19.8.
10-25% for weight & 75% for height. Tall & skinny??!?! Alright with me...wish I was!
Oh sweetie! What a wonderful gift.
I hear your cry about your baby girl. Don't worry as long as she continues to thrive and be healthy. My firstborn was under 16 pounds at one year and 18 pounds at 18 months.
My second is rounding 18 months next week and is a little over 32 pounds. THIRTY TWO POUNDS. Same parents, same nursing, same food, same gentics, VERY different growth cycles.
God has a sense of humor, certainly. And His perfect creations of our children keep us on our toes. Glad to hear of your bountiful day.
AH, motherhood. :)
