When Bryon and I were getting educations, we liked to think that Baylor would provide us with the tools we would need to help keep our family with clothes on our backs. We didn't think that Baylor would LITERALLY keep clothes on our backs!
We have season tickets to the Baylor men's and women's basketball games. At each game, cheerleaders throw shirts into the crowd at court side, and also parachute them from the rafters at the ends of the games. Matthew's life mission is to catch as many of these as possible! Between Matthew's heroic jumps to retrieve shirts and the shirts they pass out for White Outs, we have enough Baylor T-shirts to clothe a third world country. I was reminded of this today as I washed a load of whites and colors. Here is a sampling of the basketball shirts that were in the wash today, which by no means includes all the shirts!
Baby's First Hair Cut!
I am always very apprehensive about pruning my roses back, but seeing how every one of my rose bushes were taller than me, I decided to do a major pruning this year. I have worked over two days on this project, and am not quite through yet! Somehow, we keep having beautiful weather during the week when Bryon is working, and yucky weekend weather, so this massive project was mine, and mine alone! I have trimmed back over 50 rose bushes and countless perennials, and am now very aware of every aching muscle in my body! I have also been picking out thorns from my scalp, hands, fingers, arms, and legs. This project is not for the faint of heart! It is such a mess today, but I am excited that in a few short weeks, the backyard will be bursting with blooms! You may also see in this picture the treasure trove of sports paraphenalia that were found deep in the middle of my flower beds. The boys think Christmas came again!

Yeah for getting spring coming and gardening activities! I just put the brightest, cheeriest purple and yellow primroses in my front door pots. They make me smile every time I see them.
Have a rose question for u... Do u shape the bushes or prune at certain points for growth? I planted 6 bushes last year and had great blooming success but am unsure about optimum growth and getting a good bush shape. Glad I found ur blog again!
