Need to vent

Not in the best mood this morning! I was so excited about the snow/ice storm coming our way. It is one of my favorite things. I love being forced to stay home all day with nowhere to go. What a luxury! All day the temperature kept dropping into the 20s. I knew that Matthew's school would get cancelled.

No such luck. I woke up this morning and it hardly looked snowy/icy at all. School wasn't cancelled, it was just delayed 2 hours so instead of me staying home and Bryon taking Matthew to school, I have to get everyone bundled up to take him 2 hours late.

Mother's Day Out; however, was cancelled. I was counting on today because I had a hair appointment that I made in September for this morning and lots of Christmas shopping to do!

Aaaaarg!

That stinks...we got lucky here, although Frisco schools just started at 10 this morning.

Meredith-You sound like Rachel Ray! You are a great cook so I am sure you could figure this out, but make sure the cookies are slightly brown around the edges. Sometimes I find it takes a little more than 10 minutes. Also I usually use parchment paper to bake them. They seem to come off the sheet better.

Kristen-Sounds like Frisco and Waco were in the same boat. Cold enough to cancel MDO but not cold enough to cancel school. Rats!

Here's something to be thankful for: your husband has a job to go to and you don't have to worry about childcare for your other children!

Thank you, Anon! It would have never occurred to me to be grateful that my husband has a job until your sweet comment. Have a great day!

I think we're all extremely thankful for the many, many blessings we've received, we just are disappointed sometimes when plans don't work out. We're just overworked mamas...that's all...

Our MDO was not canceled today but we almost didn't go anyway. Seems like any Tues/Thurs when I make big plans something happenes! Hope the rest of your day was better!

Notice that I picked up on it immediately, Meredith! Guess that makes me a Food Network Junkie as well. I am glad that you enjoyed my cookies and as always, I wish you best dishes from my kitchen to yours!

Hope the day turned into a great day, even with the disappointments. Sometimes with all of our plans, God has something different for us--maybe for one day, maybe for lots of days! Hope yesterday turned into a blessing after all. Christina
