What a catch!

While taking sailing lessons, Matthew got to be really good friends with a boy named, Matt. They started off sailing in Optis (the smallest sailboat), but were racing in regattas in 420s by the second week! They came in 14th place out of 35 on their first regatta, which is pretty good considering that my Matthew had only taken lessons for 2 weeks! I really enjoyed getting to know Matt's mother (she was one of 17 kids!). Sometime in the second week of lessons, Matt's mom mentioned that her husband was retired and was an avid fisherman. Each week, he takes his son out with him into the ocean to catch large fish. They wanted to know if Matthew and Bryon were interested in going. Of course!!
My Matthew ended up catching 4 striped bass, all in the 40 pound plus range. He even caught a tagged fish, that researchers give $500 to whoever turns in the tag! The man in the picture below was the fisherman who is an employee of Matt's dad.
When I went by to pick Matthew and Bryon up, this is the house that I pulled up to! One of three homes that Matt's family lives in. Not too shabby!
Neither is their 12 million dollar yacht. Yes, Matthew found a very interesting friend! ;)
Pulling up to the dock.
Very proud dads and sons!
After they pulled up to the dock, the fisherman made sea bass steaks for us, and we headed home to grill them.
Talk about fresh seafood! Matthew was so proud. What a fun day!
