I was so shocked and thrilled last night when David Cook was crowned American Idol! He has been my absolute favorite since he sang Lionel Ritchie's "Hello" in the top 24. It seems unpatriotic perhaps to say, but David Archuleta has annoyed me from the beginning. I know he has a beautiful voice, but his "Awww, shucks"-ness grated on my nerves. I was sad on Tuesday night, because I thought it was a given that little David would be the winner.
Matthew asked yesterday if we could have a "watch party" last night! I put the little two down to sleep early while Matthew was at practice, and the three of us watched the finale after baseball.
Here is another of my favorite songs from David Cook. I have never bought a cd from an American Idol contestant, but I think I will this time!

That's so funny because I felt the exact same way. I've always liked Cook and couldn't stand Archuleta. Brad has always liked Archie, so I couldn't bash him...I think he looks sort of dimwitted (that's so ugly of me!) I thought that with Simon's comments from Tuesday that he had lost it for sure. It really did make it exciting last night, though, not knowing! Yay, Cook!
I was excited that David C. won, too. He has such a different style from David A. and one that I think is definitely more marketable (sp?). My daughter and I watched it together, but we felt completely different.....she was a David A. fan. At the first of the season when they were plugging the show as the BEST one yet, I didn't get it....but as the season progressed (and I have watched nearly every season) I think it was if not the best, it was close to it.
I felt the same way! And I felt bad that I really didn't like Archuleta, but he got on my nerves as well! I didn't even watch last night because I didn't want to see David Cook lose. Boy was I pleasantly surprised this morning!
I agree! I thought for sure on Tuesday night that David Cook was out of it, but I was SO GLAD he won! Archuleta's gooey-sweetness was a little too much for me. Cook has such a unique style - I think this will be the first AI winner CD I buy too!
I like him too! I may just have to buy his music..I love your new little playlist! I can't figure out how to post one on my blog. Seems like things are always a little harder with my Mac. Just trying to make it in this P.C. world!
We were so happy at our house too. Sad to admit that I sat and voted for Cook like 10 times (only getting through 2-3) so that made me feel like he might be the winner!
I may actually buy his album too -- which I haven't bought anyone elses besides Chris Daughtry (and he didn't even get in the top two!)
Wish we could have been there to have a watch party with you guys!
