The Great Bedroom Shake Up!

We are just now starting the process of switching out the kids' rooms. I guess this is a difficult time of year to start the process, but it is what it is!

First of all, my sweet in laws bought the boys bunk beds for Christmas. They don't know about them yet, so hush hush if you have contact with them! They have been sharing a bed (the bed I slept in at my grandmother's house growing up) since the summer that Mary Beth was born. This worked out fine for three and a half years, but they both have grown quite a bit since then, so it is time for a change.

We are doing an "All Sports" room for the boys. I am wanting to do a light "Pottery Barnish" blue room. Any good suggestions on paint colors? Bryon and I bought their bedding yesterday at Pottery Barn. They had a really cute all sports quilt on clearance! It was meant to be. My family members are buying the boys different accessories for their room for Christmas. I can't wait to see it all in place! Also, my incredibly sweet blog buddy, Karen, got me a signed picture for the boys from Nick Saben, the head coach of Alabama! I can't tell you what this means to me! Thank you, thank you, Karen!

Meanwhile, little Miss ME is finally going to graduate from the crib. That crib has been in constant use for 8 years and it will be bittersweet to say goodbye! Lauren and Josh (or should I say James?) are going to get her dresser. We are going to transfer my grandmother's bed to Mary Beth's room. I have fallen in love with the Shabby Chic collection at Target and have been watching it for a few weeks to see if it will go on sale. The quilt I love looks a lot like her precious "Bibi" so I am pretty set on the green quilt with pink flowers.

I am so excited to get started transforming!

About the Shabby Chic going on sale -- I would just check the website and also the Slave to Target blog (there's a link from my blog). You can ask the people there -- I might be a Target freak, but those people are HARDCORE.

What Sports quilt was on sale? I have been looking to finish Rhett's room since August but can not find any bedding we really like/want to pay for.

Look at the Laura Ashley shades of Denim at Lowes. I like those.

Thanks, Deana! I will go check it out.

Steph- I just put a link on my post to the bedding I got. I love it!

Cute bedding!

Try the Eddie Bauer Collection of blue at Lowe's. Also, Waverly makes good blues for boys. They have a little gray in them so they don't look like a nursery blue.

I like the Ralph Lauren denim blues at Home Depot. Love that sports bedding, and also love Shabby Chic at Target. You have good taste!

Good luck, and you must post pictures when it's all said and done. My older two girls are wanting a re-do, and I am working up the energy to start.

Sam's old room was Laura Ashley Chambrey (the lightest shade). It was very subtle, but I am thinking about using it again on his room here (once we get around to painting it) since I liked it so much.

Good luck! I will need to come visit soon so I can see everything all done and put together.

Can't wait to see the pictures!

You know what... I think I was a bit confused! It is Laura Ashley Chambrey and Eddie Bauer Denim. Both are at Lowes. Laura Ashley has several shades of Chambrey and I think it is number 2 or 3 that I like.

Central Paint Company by Benjamin Moore (on Lake Air Drive) carries all of the colors that are in Pottery Barn catalogues.

I bought the same exact bedding for Kelton this past summer. Not that he'll use it in a big boy room for awhile, but I couldn't resist the great sale & I've been looking for something sports related b/c we have all of James's grandpa's memorbilia from his days as a pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. As far as paint goes, I'm painting horizontal stripes in two different shages of blue & painting a giant red star in the center. Here's hoping it looks as good on the walls as it does in my mind!
