Thomas and Mary Elizabeth

When I found out I was going to have 2 boys and a girl, I was expecting the boys to be extremely close (or at least hoping!). What I didn't think about was the close relationship that my younger two would form. Thomas and ME are the best of friends when Matthew is in school. They are my two VERY affectionate children and they love hugging all over each other and holding hands when we are out in public. Lauren says that they get so excited when they see each other in the halls at Mother's Day Out! I can count on my hand the number of tiffs these two have had over their past 2 years together, and I love that ME calls Thomas, "Honey" or "Sweetie" because that is what I call him!

I am really trying to relish these next 8 weeks with Thomas and ME being home together. While I pray that their relationship continues to grow, this will be the only time until they are teenagers that they will spend so much concentrated time alone together in the house. I think I will always feel a little sadness that ME will never have a sister, but at least she will have an awesome older brother to dote on her! Matthew dotes on her as well and ME adores him, but there usually isn't any time where it is just ME and Matthew. What a lucky girl having two older brothers!

I was always glad I didn't have a sister. It's fun being the only girl. Mike and I didn't have an affectionate relationship growing up but he's one of my favorite people now.

It's obvious that Thomas and ME are very glad to have each other!

That is how i feel about your mother. She was always so sweet and loving. Somethings never change. On the other hand, Never say Never Elizabeth!

That's so sweet! It's good to realize the changes that will come the older they become and to relish your time now.

They do have a sweet relationship -- it is captured in these pictures and you can feel it when you are around them in person.

Sweet kiddos!

so cute! ME may not relish having two older brothers when it comes time for them to be protective of her and potential dates!! :-)

You forgot to mention that they give eachother a quick kiss on the lips when they pass eachother in the halls.

That's true, Lauren. I just didn't want to sound too "Flowers in the Attic"-ish!

So sweet. I always wished my sister and I would have had an older brother.

My brother is several years older than I am, and to this day he is my confidant, my protector and my defender. I couldn't love him more for that. And, now my daughter follows him around every step he makes. She loves her daddy, but her uncle holds a close second in her heart. Your children are lucky to have each other. Nice post, you have brought back a flood of memories to me.

I really love looking at pictures of our children when they show the tenderness of their mother. I am always happy to see the joy in their faces and I am blessed to know that my angels enjoy each other!
