Well, the pace of my peaceful week picked up quite a bit the last few days. Grandparents Day was today at Matthew's school. Since I am the room mother for his class, I made a big platter of cookies for all of the guests. Also, my P.T.A. position kicks of on Grandparents Day. Birthday Book Club was a huge success today and we made more than $600 thanks to doting grandparents.
Yesterday was filled with cooking and baking all day and getting the house ready for my mother-in-law who spent the night with us last night. Fortunately, my mother in law agreed to come and watch the younger two while I was busy with P.T.A. business today. She was also excited to see Matthew's classroom.
Matthew enjoyed taking Nana and Mimi to his class. He was able to introduce them
and tell what he loves to do with them. Matthew also had Thomas in class with him. He carried him to his classroom and he held him in his lap during the introductions!
Tonight, we went out to eat with my parents, sister, and brother-in-law. We then went to Barnes and Noble (a Friday night tradition) and I couldn't help but buy a few books that I was admiring in my book club display.
On a whim, we decided to drive out to our lot and look around. We managed to run into several families out there who were hanging out in the street and spent over an hour talking and watching the kids play. It seems like every time we go out there this happens. It makes us so excited to finally be settled out there so we can have a block party all the time!
Now everyone is in bed. I am just about to take a bath and read the last few chapters of my book. I love Friday nights!

Ditto on Friday nights. I just finished my second bowl of ice cream tonight while enjoying watching tv with Josh, talking on the phone, and catching up on blogs. I am laughing thinking about almost 6 year old Matthew carrying his big almost 4 year old brother into class! He's so hilarious!
That all sounds like fun...your neighborhood already seems like the place to be and you don't even live there yet. I know you will be happy once you do!
It's refreshing to hop to your blog and here all the upbeat positive things in your life.
Thank you for sharing!
Meredith,
I am reading several good books right now!
The Chronicles of Narnia- I just love reading these stories. I also have the study guide Finding God in the land of Narnia that accompanies it.
The Last Coach-Unless you are a huge Alabama or Bear Bryant fan, you probably wouldn't enjoy it.
The Kite Runner-This is the book that I bought last night which was highly recommended to me. I can't wait to start it!
the last book i read was are you my mother?. highly popular read in the infant age group! (sorry for the lack of capitalization, i'm catching up on my bloggies and trying to rock hadlee to sleep at the same time. anybody got an extra hand lying around???)
