Summer is my least favorite time of year. Unbelievably hot, no schedule...Fall is my very favorite time of year. So, every year around this time, I start dreaming of what is to come in the not so distant future. I got a catalog today for back to school and it had falling autumn leaves on it. That did it!
Picture if you will:
*A nip in the air
*overcast days
*The sun not so blazing hot
*Pumpkins and other assorted gourds
*scarecrows
*Leaves in different shades of red, orange, and brown
*Children wearing back packs
*sweaters and jeans
*Halloween
*Thanksgiving
*Being outside in the middle of the day not drenched in sweat
*soup
*Alabama football
*cooking with pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, cranberries
*eating a cozy dinner when it is dark outside
*kids going to bed early
I can't wait!!! I know that every season has it's wonderful perks, I am just soooooo tired of the heat.
Had a thought.

You have me drooling!
Fall and Winter are my all time favorite seasons as well. I too cannot stand the blazing Texas heat and I am always quite ready when Fall is ushered in. I also happen to perfer warm fall and winter fashion as well, I feel very classy and sophisticated in blacks reds, golds, and other dark colors. My family is full of high school football fanatics! I say, "Come, Fall come! I'm ready."
Thanks for this reminder today.
So TL, you are one of THEM....You know (other than this past year) Auburn stands for Alabama Usually Beats Us 'Round November.
Well, my cousin goes there so it can't be THAT bad!!
I feel the exact same way. I always think those thoughts you posted on my way home from the beach. I am so depressed vacation is over...so I look forward to what is to come.
I love Fall! I love the smell of someone's fire while walking through leaves on a crisp day! Of course, living in South Carolina, our cooler weather doesn't usually arrive until November, unfortunately.
I second TL's "War Eagle" even though I live in Tuscaloosa and work for UA...a girl has to stay true to her roots!
Mommy of Boys-
What do you do for UA? My dad went to undergrad and grad there and then taught there after he got his Ph.D. We are HUGE Tide fans!!
I have a picture of me holding a football crying my eyes out when I was a little girl the day Bear Bryant retired!
Hi Elizabeth,
I'm a program assistant with the foreign languages department. We moved here in 2003 for my husband to work on his master's degree in counseling. He will graduate in December. He works for UA too with Brewer Porch Children's Center. We put a bid on a house in Northport that was accepted yesterday, so we're here to stay for a while.

My parents lived in Northport when I was born...30 years ago on Friday! My mom worked at Druid City Hospital.
FALL I love the weather and the colors ...but the alarm clock, the homework, and the contant go, go, go! Oh well take the sweet with the sour I guess.
Your'e list was quite tempting. Just wish fall was more of a real season in these parts. It seems we don't get that Fall weather until the last weeks in November before Christmas hits!
Uhhh...Roll Tide Roll!
(She's blonde, just look past her!)
I'm glad you wandered on to my blog ... it led me to yours! I could have written this post myself ... one final word ... AMEN! (Oh yeah, and BRING IT ON!!!) I could also say ROLL TIDE but it's more like GEAUX Tigers these days! :)
