House plans

We are in the process of putting together a house plan for a house we intend to move into in the next year or two. Does anyone have any suggestions of what we should or shouldn't put in the house? Something you really like or really don't like about your house or a house you have seen? Thanks for the help.

It is a frivolous thing, but I always wanted to have a window seat. I think it would have been a great place to sit and read as I was growing up.

I already have that one marked down! Thanks for the input.

It's silly, but I think several eletrical outlets under the eaves and an outlet hidden by the front door with an on/off switch inside for all make Christmas and holiday decorating sooo much eaiser! Also that vaccum thing that MK has is way cool...but I'm sure that is already on the list.

double oven!! room for extra large fridge! Big pantry! Laundry chute if bedrooms are up and laundry is down!!

Plugs on the mantel. (For Christmas village or whatever). Plugs everywhere, lots and lots of plugs.

Intercom system if it's going to be a big house!

I'd recommend investing in one of those quiet dishwashers if the kitchen opens to other rooms.

Separate baths for master BR. Or at least a separate small room for the toilet. Separate closets.

(We're always looking ahead!)

Okay, outlets, not plugs.

Lots of plugs and the eaves plugs with an inside switch will make you very happy. I love my over the cabinets and over the counter lights in my kitchen. I hate my desk drawers in the kitchen--I am notebook and file person and the drawers are too small. Have fun!!!

I just added a library to my house. Lots of bookshelves with a comfortable reading chair and a fireplace (gas since Texas is just as weather changing as Alabama). Got to have a great place to read.
