Parties! Programs! Projects!

We had 2 1/2 days of school this week that were jam packed with parties and programs!

1st grade party:

5th grade party: I don't get the opportunity to be in Matthew's classroom like I used to, so I enjoyed seeing him in his element during his Christmas party.

5th grade Choir concert-Matthew has really enjoyed choir which thrills my alto singing heart! He got to sing bass in a song which makes him so proud. Apparent Mrs. Koch told him that he had one of the lowest voices in the 5th grade, which he couldn't tell me without a huge smile on his face! ;)

3rd Grade Party
One of Thomas's numerous projects! He had to make a snowman and give a summary of the book, "Guardians of Ga-Hoole".

A 3rd grade tradition: Reindeer game!

Christmas at the OK Coral

Every year, our school's Christmas program is put on the by the 3rd graders. This year's program was Christmas at the OK Coral. Mean Bubble Gum Bart is threatening to cover the town in bubble gum goo if the town tries to celebrate Christmas. Desperate, the townspeople call the North Pole to have the Candy Cane Kid come to the rescue. Thomas was the Candy Cane Kid. He told me he tried out for that part instead of Bubble Gum Bart for two reasons: he didn't like being mean and he didn't blow great bubbles! ;) The program was adorable, and we were so proud of our North Pole cowboy!

"Bubble Gum Bart! I'm calling you out!"
Thomas got to do a "gun show" with his candy canes. He's blowing the smoke from his candy cane here!
Our wonderful music teacher!
Aunt Lauren always loves coming to see her nephews and niece!

A Shepherd, a Sheep, and a Savior

Immediately following the kids' piano recital, we had our church's Christmas program, A Shepherd, and Sheep, and a Savior. Martha Kate and I were in charge of teaching the kids the music and have been practicing since October. It was adorable! I loved being a part of it.

Matthew played Joseph in the play.

We were happy that Mimi and Big Mack were able to come up for the day to watch the kids!

Piano recital

The kids had their piano recital on Sunday afternoon. Mary Beth was so excited to play in her first recital! No butterflies!

Mary Beth was so excited to get to curtsy!

Thomas's birthday party

Thomas had his birthday party this year with his dear friend, Scarlett. They were born 26 hours apart, and have had 4 parties together over the years.

The party was at the community center of our church, which is such a fantastic place for a party. Just give the kids balls of any size or shape, and they are happy for a few hours! The kids had a great time and left very, very sweaty! ;)
